Spring semester 2025
I wanted a low-contrast serif typeface that worked well at large sizes, so I could use it for posters. I was also enamored with photo type from the 1970s, with its compensations for light projecting through each letter. I worked with 6-pt. Bembo and maintained its tall x-height. I played with flat and round terminals and chopped off some serifs to make a consistent, friendly strangeness. Since I had never drawn a typeface before, I felt sort of ditzy doing it, so I swapped one letter in Bembo to give it its name.
