Libris
Source material: Rebound library book covers (Possibly Record Gothic)
2743 Introduction to Typeface Design, Fall 2025

Libris is based on text stamped onto the cloth spines of library books that have been rebound using standard library binding processes. The letterforms were drawn from scans of rebound volumes. When I called the rebinding company to ask which typeface they used, they said Record Gothic, but it's not a one-to-one match. Perhaps Record Gothic was adapted to the specifics of the stamping machine.
