Source material: Attraktion (Woellmer/Haas, 1931)
Spring semester 2020
I discovered this specimen while I was working as a research assistant with the inheritance of Haas Type Foundry, former Stempel. Nina found out that the original specimen comes from the foundry Woellmer in Berlin and was released 1931 under the name «Attraktion». How the specimen made its way to Haas is still a mystery. So far I have tried to give the revival a contemporary feel so it would be easier to read as a body text as well as display.
First I drew the caps like on the specimen to understand the structure of the letters. I realized that for a more contemporary feel and for smaller text sizes, the caps need to become more simple.
