Runic

Fall semester 2022

Runic is a body text serif revival of Runic, a caps-only display serif released by George Bruces' Son & Co in New York in 1882. Since its initial release, Runic has since been revived and expanded by multiple other foundries, such as Nebiolo, Schelter & Giesecke, and Stephenson Blake. In the drawing of the letterforms for my revival of Runic, I consulted the original typeface as well as all the later revivals in order to produce a body text application of Runic suitable for screens.
